Alice Mae Harris, 74, of Burlington, passed away at 8:10 PM Saturday, October 6, 2018, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born August 27, 1944, in Gary, IN, to Edward and Margaret Roberts. She was the second of six siblings.

She met her future husband, Max Harris, in Chicago at an Arthur Murray dance exhibition. They wed in 1965, and she relocated to Burlington. She worked for the Hawk Eye newspaper for many years before retiring.

She was a talented artist and loved gardening. Survivors include three brothers, Edward Roberts Jr. of Hebron, IN, James Roberts of Penargyl, PA, Henry Roberts of Burlington; one sister, Linda Lyon of Portage, IN; many nieces and nephews, and her dearest friend, Jim Letts of Burlington. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Edward and Margaret, her brother George and her husband, Max.

The Graveside Committal Service for Alice will be 10:00 am Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun. Donations can be made in her name to Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa.
