Obituary for Jonathan Mack Daugherty Jonathan Daughtery of Ankeny, Iowa Jonathan Mack Daugherty, 71, was born March 20, 1946 to Beul and Eva (Dixon) Daughtery in Des Moines, Iowa. He passed away February 18, 2018 at his home in Ankeny, Iowa. He served in the United States Navy from August 30, 1964 until his honorable discharge August 13, 1968.

Jon loved spending warm weather camping, fishing and boating. There was always a black dog at his feet eagerly waiting for the next fish or stick and he never disappointed. Some of the best times were spent with a camp fire and cold beer or hot coffee (if you could drink his coffee).

Cold months were spent reading, doing leather crafts and getting ready for warm weather camping, fishing and boating. Survived By: His wife Peggy Midgorden-Daugherty, sister Alice Buelane Daugherty, sister-in-law Mary Daugherty, nieces Tania Daugherty, Teri (Matt) Farrand, and Denise Daugherty, nephews Tim (Christy) Daugherty, and Jeff Daugherty, great nieces Cassidy Daugherty, Casey Daugherty, Tatum Farrand and great nephews Gavin Daugherty and Mac Farrand. Mother-in-law Martha Midgorden, sisters-in-law Paula Midgorden (Kyle Simons), and Penny Bellville (Bruce).

His children Amy, Jon Jr. and Joshua. Preceded in Death by: His parents Buel and Eva (Dixon) Daugherty and brothers Jack and Phil Daugherty. Graveside services for Jon will be 2pm, Thursday May 24, 2018 at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Memorial Drive, Van Meter, Iowa 50003.

A celebration of life will follow at the American Legion Post 910 Main Street, Van Meter, Iowa. Memorial Contributions may be made to any animal rescue organization you choose, ChildServe or Jon’s family. Graveside Service 2PM Thursday, May 24, 2018 Iowa Veteran Cemetery 34024 Veterans Memorial Parkway Adel, Iowa All Floral deliveries may be made to Dyamond Memorial.
