Obituary for Elaine Vonk Doubleday Elaine Vonk Doubleday passed away peacefully after a long illness on August 20, 2018 in Johnston, IA. She was born in Sully, Iowa on August 19, 1936, to Case Vonk Jr. and Alice Baarda Vonk. Elaine is survived by her two daughters, Chris Kovacevich (Robert) of Spokane, WA, and Kathryn Todd of Bexley, OH; three sons, John Kovacevich, Bill Kovacevich (Trisha), and Tim Kovacevich of Ankeny, IA; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; three sisters, Berneda Oswalt of Sully, IA, Joy Verwers of Fort Worth, TX, and Jeane Montray-Morris of Duncan, OK; and her brother Ronald Vonk of Fort Worth, TX.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her sister June Fife of Dallas, TX; and her brothers William (Bud) Vonk of Grinnel, IA, and Cleo Vonk of Sully, IA. Elaine worked as an insurance agent at Farm Bureau in Des Moines, IA. She was an avid bridge player and golfer.

Her wonderful neighbors and friends were a constant support and joy in her life. Family inurnment will take place at a later date. A celebration will be held in her honor, please call a family member for date.
