Donald “Don” Babb, 67, of Burlington, died at 11:11 PM Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born October 12, 1951, in Burlington, he was the son of Carl Babb and Emma Jean Loeffers Rodriguez. On September 15, 1973, he married Teresa Johnson at Zion United Church.

In 1979, Don and Teresa renewed their vows. He graduated from Burlington High School as well as Southeastern Community College with a degree in Liberal Arts. Don worked in the I.T. Department at the Burlington Medical Center for 30 years, and a Registration Clerk at the Great River Medical Center.

He also worked for Arby’s for the past 11 years. Don was known by everyone and he loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed music, playing the organ, watching Dancing with the Stars and Dark Shadows, and cooking and baking, mostly desserts.

Don was also a fan of Marvel Comics. Survivors include his wife, Teresa of Burlington; one daughter, Carnita L Babb of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren, Blaze Price, Braddock Price, and Latrice Davenport; two sisters, Carla Thomson of Springfield, IL, Luanne (Dennis) Johnson of Stronghurst, IL; nieces and nephews, Susan Thomson, Amanda Hicks, Drew Pfieff, Amy Johnson, Patricia Duncan, and Duane Johnson; and five great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Anita Renteria.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory. Visitation will be from noon until 8:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. A memorial has been established for The Burlington High School Dream Catchers Organization, Great River Hospice House, The Helen Rossi House in Iowa City.
