OBITUARY Terri Ann Phares August 18, 1948 – October 30, 2018 Terri Phares, 70, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 2:00 p.m., until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Ankeny Funeral Home (1510 W. First Street Ankeny, IA 50023). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family for a memorial of their choosing at a later time.

Terri was born August 18, 1948, in Des Moines, IA to Leonard and Alberta (Breese) Bowdre. She received her BS and MS in Computer Science from Iowa State University. Terri was united in marriage to Art Phares on June 14, 1968.

Terri was a Professor of Computer Science at DMACC for 29 years and also taught jazzercise with her husband for 24 years at various locations in the area. Terri and Art loved to travel, specifically to the Caribbean (St. Martin and Jamaica) multiple times a year. She enjoyed working out, reading and especially spending time with her twin granddaughters.

Terri is survived by her husband of 50 years, Art Phares; son, Brent (Mary) Phares and granddaughters Marley and Samantha; she is also survived by her mother, Alberta Bowdre. Terri is preceded in death by her father and brother, Gary Bowdre.
