Dean Kuster Dean Alvin Kuster, 79, of Burlington, died at his home Sunday, December 23, 2018. Born November 4, 1939, in Burlington, he was the son of Zachary Taylor and Jeanette Jean Trump Kuster. On March 20, 1960, he married Sherron Mae Bennett in Burlington.

Dean worked for Metropolitan Life for 34 years in Sales and Management in Ottumwa, Greeley, CO and Burlington until he retired in 1994. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1958. Dean loved his sports: boxing, handball, golf and was a member of the Shoquoquon Tennis Club where he would play in tournaments every summer.

He started a golf group at Flint Hills with close friends and family. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan and always rooting for the underdog. Dean loved playing cards with friends on Thursdays in the winter, history, Western Movies and the town of Burlington as a whole.

He was a family man who loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very proud of them. Family meant the world to him, so much so that he left a management position to move back home to be with them. Dean was sentimental, had a great sense of humor, he was an artful story teller, and could always put people at ease with his emotional intelligence and great advice.

His front door was like a revolving door from all the visitors that would frequently stop by which he loved very much.
