Frances Mae Ebbesmier , 84, of Burlington, died Thursday, December 20, 2018, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. She was born January 13, 1934, in Fairfield, IA, she was the daughter of William H. and Greta M. Dold (Freeman). Fran worked at IAAP for the Department of DOD as a government inspector and in Quality Assurance for 26 years.

She later worked at Wal-mart, retiring from there after 20 years. She loved to play pitch and Backgammon, working in her yard and crochet. She loved to spend time with her girls and great grandchildren.

She was the original designer of the mural of “Gone With the Wind” on Harrison Street. Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Houston and Tamara Russell both of Burlington; two granddaughters, Katherine Carl Houston (Jason Huff) of North Liberty, IA, and Elizabeth (Chris) Troll of Watkins, MN; one great-granddaughter, Samantha Troll; one great-grandson, Logan Troll; two brothers, Gene (Shirley) Freeman and Larry (Maxine) Freeman both of Bettendorf, IA; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by both her parents, sister, Fern Freeman, and brother, Arthur Freeman.

A memorial has been established for the American Heart Association. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory. The Memorial Visitation for Frances will be from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Prugh’s Chapel downtown.
