Rita Dilip Gandhi, 39, of Burlington, died Thursday, October 4, 2018, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born December 25, 1978, in Santokpura, India, she was the daughter of Mansukh and Kokila Patel. She married Dilip Gandhi.

She was a housewife. She loved to paint abstracts and landscapes. She was a leader and was very social and family oriented.

She loved to organize, was very involved in her local Indian community and often volunteered at Burlington Notre Dame schools. She was always the type of person to go out of her way for others. Survivors include her parents, Mansukh and Kokila Patel; her husband, Dilip of Burlington; two sons, Aman Gandhi and Sunny Gandhi of Burlington; one daughter, Dhvani Patel of South Barrington, IL; two brothers, Param and Trang Patel both of India; father-in-law, Raman Gandhi; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins in the United States and India.

She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, uncles and grandparents. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory. Services for Mrs. Gandhi will be 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

Cremation will be accorded immediately following the service.
