Obituary for Alice Rose Devine Alice Rose Devine, 86, of Owensboro, departed to her home in heaven on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 under the loving care of Hospice of Western, Kentucky. She was a devout Catholic and a life-long member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. Alice loved to travel and adored children, and was a great babysitter.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved deeply by so many. She was also a wonderful mother and a great cook. Born in West Louisville on February 4, 1932, she was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Blandford, a brother Kenneth Blandford, her husband James W. Devine, her granddaughter Holly Hamilton, and a great-grandson Madison Millay.
She is survived by her children Jimmy Devine, Linda Hamilton and Father Terry W. Devine. She is also survived by her great-grandsons Christian Hamilton and Preston Hayes, her brothers George, Randall, and Gary Blandford, and her sisters Peggy Roberts, Shirley Merimee, Nancy Lewis, and Barbara Megan. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 13, 2018, at Precious Blood Catholic Church, with Father Suneesh Mathew officiating.
Burial to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Prayers will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday and from 8:00 am to 9:30 an Friday at the funeral Home.
