Allan Frank Martin, 63, returned to his Heavenly Father at his home in Roy, Utah on December 17, 2018 due to natural causes. He was born June 27, 1955 in Tooele, Utah, to parents Glenn and Evelyn Martin. He was welcomed home by his brother, Richard Martin.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served a mission in Texas. Allan attended school in Tooele, and played in the Tooele High School Band where he had the opportunity to travel to performances nationally. Allan attended BYU, and was a sound and lighting specialist for several BYU performing groups, including the Lamanite Generation (Wheelwright Lighting).

He traveled both nationally and internationally with these groups. After receiving his degree, he found employment at Thiokol Corporation, later moving to Hill Air Force Base working as an Electrical/Software Engineer until the time of his death. While working at Hill he earned a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Allan had a great passion for working with the technical side of theater and entertainment. He was very proficient with sound, lighting and pyrotechnics. He loved working/traveling with his lifelong friend, James Reid on James’ company projects.

He also loved working with Parkinson Sound for years where he became like family with many. Allan was always willing to help others and had an innate kindness. He appreciated anything that was done for him and cherished his close-knit friends and co-workers.

A great man to have known here on earth will be greatly missed. Allan is survived by many cousins and close friends, James (Dena) Reid, Ken (Katie) Parkinson, and Karen Harden. He will be missed by many other friends and co-workers.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. Funeral services will be Friday, January 4, 2019, at Tate Mortuary, 110 South Main, Tooele Utah. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

Funeral service at 12:00 PM.
