Allene Marie Tuttle Richardson , April 13, 1946 — May 08, 2018

Allene Marie Tuttle-Richardson, 72, of Concord, VT, passed away at her home with her loving husband of 55 years, Herbert, and family by her side on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, after a long illness. Allene was born April 13, 1946 at Mary Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover, NH to Alfreda Sweet and Allen E. Tuttle, both deceased. She was the youngest of seven children, three sisters and three brothers.

She went to a one-room school house in North Thetford, Vt. until Junior High, then to Thetford Academy, Thetford Hills, Vt. On November 11, 1962, she married Herbert C. Richardson, then moved to St. Johnsbury, Vt.

, then later settled in Concord, Vt. Family was the most important thing in her life, but she did enjoy her job as a care giver for many years. Her love for puzzles and reading books only came in second to her love and passion of nature and gardening.

Her favorite places in the world were Maine and Alaska. She collected lighthouses. Her grandchildren were her world and she enjoyed every moment she spent with them.

Allene is survived by her husband of 55 years: Herbert C. Richardson; her sons: Carl and wife, Christine, of Edgewood, NM, Jeff and wife, Jane, of Lunenburg, VT; one sister: Alma Gray of Norwich, VT; her grandchildren: Scott and wife, Megan, of Lancaster, NH, Danielle of Lunenburg, VT, Megan and husband, Brandon, of Lancaster, NH, Tyler of Lunenburg, VT, and Angel from Edgewood, NM. She had 8 great-grandchildren: Makiah, Bently, Paytin, Ryder, Grayson, Isaiah, Maddox, and Garrison; and 2 more on the way; also, Katelynn Walker who she thought of as a grandkid. Allene was predeceased by her parents; sisters: Valroy Durkee and Varlea Covey; brothers: Brian, William, and Alfred Tuttle; and her son: Steven Carl Richardson.

A gathering will take place on Saturday, May 19, 2018, 4-6PM at Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer Street in St. Johnsbury, VT. Burial will be on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 1:30PM at Union Village Cemetery in Norwich, VT. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.
