Alma K. Mestrow, 89, of Hazleton passed away late Thursday evening at Mt. City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hazle Twp. where she had resided for the past three years.

Born in Hazleton, September 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Anne (Jenco) Kolesar and had lived in Hazleton for the past 10 years after moving from Drums where she had resided for 45 years. Alma was a member of Good Shepherd RC Church, Drums. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time traveling.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband, Joseph S. Mestrow, who passed away May 14, 1993. Surviving are four children, Claudia Mikula and husband Richard, Hazleton; J. Steven Mestrow and wife Linda, Southampton, PA; Jessica Hector and her husband Steve, Mt. Shasta, CA; and Leslie Clouden, Sylvania, OH; six granddaughters, a grandson, three great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters also survive.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 am in Good Shepherd R.C. Church, 87 S. Hunter Hwy. , Drums. Encryptment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
