Obituary for Alvin Ambrose Dieter Alvin Ambrose Dieter October 16, 1923 – January 12, 2015 Alvin passed away after a brief illness on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the age of 91. Al, married 21 years to Marcia Were, is survived by their children David Dieter of Albany, NY, Bob Dieter of Roanoke, VA, Peggy Dieter of St. Nom la Breteche, France, Bryan Dieter of St. Louis, MO, and Mary Jane Shelley, of Charlotte VT, and their grandchildren Jenny and Michael Dieter, Lea and Jessie Poquerusse, Max and Ellie Dieter, and Gillian and Tucker Shelley. Al was then happily wed to Anne Dieter for 15 years and is survived by his stepchildren Mary Kate Bland, John Bland, Bill Bland, Maureen Cooke, and Eileen Dejulio and their children.

A WWII veteran, he worked for Honeywell for 39 years in upstate NY. Al loved golf, was a consummate handyman, and played an active role at Christ Community United Methodist Church in Syracuse, NY followed by Faith United Methodist Church in South Burlington, VT. He was a generous hearted person with a great sense of humor who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

There will be a memorial service held for Mr. Dieter at Faith United Methodist Church in South Burlington, VT on May 3, 2015 at 2:00 followed by a brief reception. Memorial contributions in Alvin’s memory may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 899 Dorset St. South Burlington, VT 05403.
