Ambrose A M Trusty, August 29, 1927 — January 22, 2019

Ambrose Allen McTrusty, 91, formerly of North Fond du Lac, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at his residence. He was born on August 29, 1927, in Montello, the son of Ambrose and Minnie Fossman McTrusty. He lived in Montello until his marriage in 1949.

He attended Montello schools and graduated from high school in 1945. He also attended Oshkosh State Teacher’s College. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1948.

He was married to Dorothy Bechler on January 29, 1945 in Van Dyne by Pastor Gerhard Pieper. She preceded him in death on November 7, 2016. Ambrose worked as an electrician in construction becoming a member of Local IBEW 494 in 1952.

He joined St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in North Fond du Lac April 25, 1954 and served in many ways as council member, usher, tape ministry and construction of school and church. “Mac” loved sports playing basketball in high school, city leagues and with the Rockets and Rangers in Fond du Lac.

He also played baseball and softball and was a member of the Rock River and Fond du Lac Softball Hall of Fame. Mac is survived by his children: Catherine (David) Mensch of Charlesburg, Timothy (Sandy) McTrusty of Panama City, Florida, Margaret (David) Perkins of Eldorado and William (Meri) McTrusty of Oshkosh; eight grandchildren: Kristine Maurer, Kerry Kollmann, Amy Schatschneider, Andrew Perkins, Sarah Brown, Chelsey McTrusty, Jessie Skaer and Megan McTrusty; three step-grandchildren: Jason Mensch, Adam Mensch and Elliot Dillman; 16 great-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy, a daughter-in-law, Carol McTrusty, his brothers Henry McTrusty and Arno McTrusty, sisters, Ethelyn Eickner and Muriel McTrusty.

VISITATION: Friends may call on Saturday, January 26, 2019, from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 1010 Adams Avenue, North Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Ev.

Lutheran Church, with Rev. Michael Kampman officiating. Burial will follow in Estabrooks Cemetery.
