Amir I Hanna obituary (Scroll down for Arabic version) Luke 1:23 “When his time of service was completed, he returned home”. Amir I. Hanna, 85, of Jersey City, formerly of Asyuit, Egypt, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Elder Amir Hanna was born on May 30th, 1933 in Asyut, Egypt, to a godly home.
His father was the late elder Iskander Hanna, of the First Evangelical Church of Asyut. Elder Amir regularly attended the meetings of First Evangelical Church with his family. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in December of 1948 in a service led by the late brother Fahmy Hanawy.
He later went on to service as a Sunday school teacher and a youth leader at the First Evangelical Church. Elder Amir moved to Al Qusiyah, Egypt in 1954, where he served as the treasurer at the Evangelical Church, as well as secretary of the session in Khalas El Nefoos for 32 years. In 1985, Amir immigrated to the United States along with his family, where he served as an elder in the Arabic evangelical community in Jersey City, for the remainder of his life.
He is beloved husband to his wife, Ganit Hanna. Devoted father to Dr. Amgad Hanna and his wife Iman, Halla and her husband elder Saber Yassa, Dr. Nivin and her husband Dr. Sameh Elias, Reham and her husband Dr. Isaac Zaki. Dedicated Grandfather to Peter and Andrew Yassa, Charles, Samuel, and Daniel Elias, Rebecca, Josiah, and Grace Zaki; great-grandfather to Joy and Charlotte.
He is brother to the late Ruth, Shokry, elder Kayser, Naama, Heti, Fawziya, as well as elder Salim and Soad Iskander. He is uncle to Pastor Alex Hanna, Vivian, Safaa, elder Salwa Kayser, Ayman, Shadee, Wasfy and Mona Helal, Sameh Wasfy and his siblings, Wessam and Weam Iskander, Bassem, Joseph, and Janet Alfonse, Amany, Anwar, Hany, and Sameh Albert. His in laws are the late Pastor Gaius Megalla and his late wife Sophia.
He is brother in law to Adel, Hani, the late Pastor Sameh, Samia, and Pastor Samah Mitry. Deceased extended in-law family, include Dawood Abdelmessiah, Nagib Yassa, Sobhy Elias, and Kamal Zaki. He lived in the fear of the Lord, all the days of his life.

اسحق ذكي. جد كل من بيتر وزوجته ناردين، واندروا وزوجته سوزي، وتشارلز وزوجته سلفيا، وصموئيل ودانيال وريباكا وجوسايا وجريس وجوي وشارلت. وشقيق كل من سعاد والشيخ سليم بمصر.
صهر الراحل القس غايس مجلع والسيدة صوفي حنا. وانجاله عادل وهاني والراحل القس سامح وساميه متري. عديل القس سماح متري ونسيب الراحل الشيخ نجيب يسى والأخ صبحي الياس والشيخ كمال ذكي والأستاذ داود عبد المسيح.
عاش الشيخ أمير في مخافة الرب كل أيام حياته وكانت اشواقه يرحل للوطن السماوي. هنيئًا له بالمجد وإن مات يتكلم بعد.
