Andrew “Andy” Johanneck, 84, of Fargo, died Friday, December 14, 2018, at Villa Maria in Fargo. Andy was born March 3, 1934, in Red Lake Falls, MN and was the son of Ed and Dorothy (Swank) Johanneck. Andy graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls.

He served in the US Navy from 1956 to 1957 on the Desron 6th Atlantic Fleet. Andy and Mable Mary Simmons were married November 30, 1957, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, MN. He worked at Gruhot Motors in Crookston, Jam Company Preserves in Fargo, in 1958 he was a mail carrier in Fargo, also employed at Boise Cascade Paper Mill in International Falls, Krieg Construction in Fargo and from May 20, 1968 to April 24, 1995 Andy was employed at Concrete Sectional in Fargo and was a 37 year member of the Teamsters Union.

Survivors include his wife: Mable of Fargo; sister: Grace Abrahamson of Battle Lake, MN; brothers: Ben and Ed Johanneck in California; sister-in-law: Jan Simmons of Crookston, MN; nieces: Linda Trudel and Jody Van Horn; nephews: Todd Rick and Bob Trudel, Dale Simmons; Buck, Jeff and Jason Johanneck. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mass of Christian Burial: 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fargo.
