Ann Harris Oliver, age 89 of Alvin, passed away on December 30, 2018. She was born on October 11, 1929 in Franklin, Tennessee to parents, Paul Douglas Harris and Ann Chestnut McGann. Ann married Richard Oliver on March 23, 1947 in South Carolina.

She moved from Virginia thirty years ago and had been an Alvin resident ever since. Ann was a member of Grace Guild, The Daughters of the King and the Altar Guild at Grace Episcopal Church. She participated with Meals on Wheels and she helped start the Boxes for the Veterans at the DeGeorge Center in Houston.

Ann was also an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Oliver, Sr.; and her children: Richard Oliver, Jr., Nancy Susan Beck, and Michael Edward Oliver. Left to cherish Ann’s memory is: her daughter, Cynthia Gilbert Cobb and husband Derrell; brothers: William Harris and wife Christa, and Samuel Joseph Harris and wife Karen; grandchildren: Chris Jewell and wife DeEtte, Chad Rogers, Steven Beck and wife Cassandra, Ryann Crain and husband Sean, Richard Oliver, III and wife Rene, Carla Oliver, and Brett Oliver; along with several great and great-great grandchildren.
