Ann Shirley Krause of Westland, MI passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2019. Born in Detroit on January 20, 1936, she was the daughter of Leona (Sedlmeyer) and Bernard Snyder. After finishing school, she worked as a bookkeeper in a bank until she married on October 12, 1957 and went on to have two sons – Bernard and Douglas.

She had two grandchildren – Charlotte and Caroline – whom she loved deeply. While she lived a simple life, she was passionate about her family as well as the many children that she cared for in her home after her son had grown. Her uniform was blue jeans and a sweatshirt, she drank her coffee black, never turned down a slice of pizza or a little chocolate and always looked forward to breakfast with her closest friend Anna who was with her until the end.

Many of her fondest memories were of time spent in Johnstown, PA, which to her was always her second home. She was a longtime dedicated member of St. Mels Catholic Church in Dearborn Heights and was always willing to help those around her. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Daniel and her son Douglas (Carolynn) of Rochester Hills, MI.

She is preceded in death by her son, Bernard and sister, Ruth. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00am on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 31530 Beechwood in Garden City, MI. Friends and family will be received prior to the mass in the church hall beginning at 10:30am.
