James Arthur Carpenter Jr. passed away on May 7, 2019 in Mount Clemens at the age of 69. James is the cherished husband of 35 years of Debra (nee Little); the loving father of Jeremy (Roxanne) Carpenter, Kyle Carpenter, Elijah Carpenter; the beloved grandfather of Tiffany, and the great-grandfather of Clayton; the dear brother of Dave (Deboroh) Carpenter, Sharon Carpenter, Evie (Joe) Paccione, and Jenny (the late Roger) McDonald. James was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

James was the epitome of a humanitarian. He was a worker for the City of Sterling Heights for 40 years, he worked on many food drives with the Lyons Club and with the Shriner’s. James worked a lot with the Detroit Goodfellows.

He served his community by working with Toys for Tots, and assisting with clothing drives for the homeless. During Christmas time, he adopted families, and one year, he and his family bought over 200 turkeys, as well as the fixings, for families. James’ family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the Wm.
