Obituary for Anna Bridget Fernando Anna Bridget Fernando (“Ammie”-Sinhalese for Mother) of 85 yrs, passed away on Friday, November 23rd in Flower Mound, Texas. She was born in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka on May 5, 1933 to the late Anna Louisa & Anthony De Silva. She was the youngest of 9 children.

Ammie was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Mother-in-law and amazing friend to many. She has always been full spirited, considerate and always giving to others her entire life. She has always been there for her children, grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Ammie taught us the values of living life to the fullest. She was compassionate, brave, and loving. Ammie’s beautiful heart, genuine smile and frequent unselfish efforts will truly be missed.

However, while our hearts may be heavy today, we will find joy and peace in knowing that heaven has gained another angel. Survivors include her 9 children: Christine, Jehan and his wife Anjali, Sharlene, Brihan and his wife Kumudu, Reshan, Leshan, Shermal, Niroshi and her husband Brian Goodman, and Pamela and her husband Amal Jayasinghe. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren Naomi and her husband Cameron Markowitz, Meneka, Brianna, Ryan, Dylan, Sean, Ashani, Sheneli, and Jaden.

On June 5th 1995, Ammie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gerard Joseph Fernando after 40 years of marriage.
