Obituary for Stephen Kent Underwood Stephen Kent Underwood (Steve), 61, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Steve was born in Brownwood, TX, on August 13, 1957 to Delton and Marie (Rainwater) Underwood. He was raised in Brownwood, Lawton, OK, Corpus Christi, and McKinney where he was a 1975 McKinney High School graduate.

He attended North Texas State University and Brookhaven College. Steve and Cindy, his loving wife of 40 years, lived in Coppell for the past 34 years. Steve loved his dachshunds and enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers (when they were playing well).

Anyone who knew Steve also knew his passion for cooking and sharing his smoked meats with family and friends. He began working at his Dad’s restaurant, Underwood’s Bar-B-Q in McKinney when he was in high school. Steve was a professional in the electronics repair industry where he spent his entire career providing excellent customer service with a strong work ethic.

Steve is survived by his wife Cindy Underwood, sister Cyndi Christie and husband Tim, brothers Ron Underwood and wife Kacie, Ed Underwood and wife Lisa, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his parents and sisters Tammy Cooper and Lisa Avant. To pay tribute to Steve, a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 17, at Lamberti’s Ristorante (his favorite Friday night hangout) at 7701 N. MacArthur Blvd, Irving, TX, from 2pm – 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation Kindness to assist homeless animals in our community. Upcoming Events Celebration of Life NOV 17.
