Obituary for Anna E. Grzesik Utica – Anna E. Grzesik, 83, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at SUNY Health Science Center, Syracuse. She was born on April 25, 1935, in Warsaw, Poland, the daughter of Edward and Janina (Karolczyk) Kwiatkowski. Anna received her education in Warsaw and Brazil.
On November 7, 1953, she married Richard P. Grzesik, Sr., in Brazil. They enjoyed a blessed union of nearly 51 years prior to his passing on October 30, 2005. Anna was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Her family was paramount to her as she prepared meals and looked forward to spending time with them. Anna was a lover of art in all forms. She herself, was an artist who often took opportunities to pick a beautiful sight and recreate it.
Anna was the recipient of many ribbons at the Herkimer County Fair and NY State Fair. Her art was frequently displayed at the outdoor art show at Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute. She also taught up-and-coming artists in her home.
Anna is survived by her children, Robert (JoAnn) Grzesik, Chadwicks, Richard (Janice) Grzesik, Jr., Cleveland, NY, Stephen (JoAnn) Grzesik, Georgia, Regina (Trevor) Allen, Constantia and Walter (Carin) Grzesik, Yorkville; grandchildren, Alice, Peter, Katherine, Elizabeth, Dustin, Richie, III, Alexander, Melanie, Stephen, Jr., Christi, William, Benjamin, Krystal, Cassandra, Caitlin, Courtney, Walter, Jr. and Roman; great grandchildren, Sophia, Parker, Charlotte, Jameson, William, Aeon, Zoe, Abby, Paul, Anna, Santos, Malia, Skylee, Gabriel, Madison, Olivia, Blake, Ethan, Duane, Ana and Aliyah. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Stanislawa Kwiatkowski and Gracinda Grzesik; many nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the world along with special friends, Scott and Leyda Whilden and family, Roberta McMann and Sister Roberta Southwick. Anna was predeceased by her son, Roman Grzesik and brother, Zbigniew Kwiatkowski.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd. , Utica. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home and 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Yorkville. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Anna’s name may be made to the Utica Pratt Institute of Art, 310 Geneesee St., Utica NY 13502. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
