Anna R. Maker, of Hopewell Twp. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the age of 103. She was born December 23, 1915, in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Michael and Catherine (Hovan) Rymniak.

She was a dark room technician for Sewickley Valley Hospital. Anna was a long time member of SS Peter and Paul Ukrianian Catholic Church, Ambridge, where she was a faithful pirohy worker and cleaned the altar for many years. She was a member of the Marian Guild, St. Helene’s Guild, Crescent Township Senior Citizens, and the Rosary Makers.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Peter Maker, seven brothers and sisters, Peter Rymniak, Charles Rymniak, Rose French, Mary Vail, Alex Rymniak, Emma Huber, and James Rymniak. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy A. Maker, with whom she resided, a son, Peter J. (Karen L.) Maker of Erie, PA, four grandchildren, Pam (Brad) Fish, Kim (Tom) Toy, Kimberly Alexander, all of Erie, Jeff (Angela) Alexander of Moon Twp. , six great grandchildren, Erika and Matthew Fish, Madison and Joshua “Josh” Toy, and Troy and Connor Alexander, two sister-in-laws, Kay Walters of Satellite Beach, FL, and Janet Makar of Conway, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Friends will be received Friday from 9:00 AM until time of panachyda service at 10:30 AM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. A church service will follow at 11:00 A.M. in SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church with Father Michael Polosky officiating. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Joanne and Rose from Mother Theresa Hospice and Michelle from Heart to Heart for their compassion and care given to Anna. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 404 Sixth Street, Ambridge, Pa. 15003.
