Anna’s Obituary Anna R. Polenavitch, 91, of Latrobe, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Nature Park Commons, Greensburg. Born May 16, 1927 in Baggaley, she was a daughter of the late John A. Polenavitch and Sophie (Rudy) Polenavitch. Anna was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Latrobe.

Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at PowerX, Youngwood, with 28 years of service, and she had also been a beautician. Anna enjoyed traveling, including pilgrimages to St. Joseph’s Oratory, St. Anne de Beaupre, Our Lady of Snows, National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, EWTN’s headquarters in Irondale, AL, and the EWTN Shrine in Hanceville, AL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Rudy, John, George, and Andy Polenavitch; and three sisters, Wanda Hurite, Gertrude Mellinger, and Constance Zidak.

Anna is survived by three nieces, Paula Zidak, her caregiver, of Latrobe, Donna Phillips of Hudson, OH, and Deborah Polenavitch of Uniontown, OH. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Nature Park Commons for their excellent care and compassion for the past six years and ten months. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the John J. Lopatich Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Church, Latrobe, with the Rev. Eric Dinga as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery.
