Obituary of Anna Prokopchik Anna Prokopchik, age 104 of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Samuel Prokopchik, died peacefully on December 11, 2018, at the Apple Rehab-Shelton Lakes Health Care Center, Shelton. Born in Wallingford on August 2, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Tehir Mayko. Mrs. Prokopchik was a homemaker and member of the Ansonia Senior Center.

She was a lifelong parishioner and the oldest member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church. She is survived by nephews, Michael (Frances) Mayko of Milford and John (Sheryl) Mayko of Ohio; nieces, Gail Mayko of Ohio, Andrea Mayko of Terryville, and Patricia (Anthony) Santacroce of Hamden; a devoted friend and neighbor, Tammy (John) Link and their daughter, Harleigh of Ansonia; as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary Prokopchik and brothers, Michael, William, Walter, Peter and John Mayko and niece, Karen Mayko. Funeral Services will take place on Friday, December 14, 2018, at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Sts.

Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Avenue, Ansonia. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:00 to 9:45 AM, prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Church Preservation Fund.
