Curcillo (nee Kasik), 94, of Elyria, died March 22, 2019. She was born July 25, 1924 in Elyria, the youngest of six girls and was a life long resident. She was a 1942 graduate of Elyria High School and married her high school sweetheart, Ernest “Ernie” Curcillo, May 5, 1945.

Over the years she held many jobs. She was employed at Bowling Green State University while Ernie pursued his degree, Bendix Corporation and Elyria City Schools, but her favorite was supervisor of The Attic Restaurant in Elyria Higbee’s. Annie was active in Redeemer Lutheran Church and was a volunteer for many years at Elyria Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of the Elyria Women’s Club, Fourthers Club and Spring Valley Country Club. She was a den mother and a member of Elyria Schools PTA. She and Ernie loved to dance and were members of the Cottilion Club.

She enjoyed monthly lunches with the “Golden Girls”, a group of friends from EHS Class of 1942. She was a fan of Elyria High sports as well as Ohio State football; she was a season ticket holder for many years. She also golfed and recorded a hole in one in Venice, Florida where she and Ernie wintered.

Annie was a loving and generous mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend to many. She enjoyed entertaining her family, friends and co-workers, as well as the teams Ernie coached at Ely Junior High. Annie was famous for her collection of funny hats that she passed around at parties.

She loved to laugh and have a good time. Annie was a loving mother to Patti (David deceased) Bader of Avon and Jeff (Cindy) Curcillo of Grove City; loving grandmother to Corie (Milissa) Curcillo, Jay (Jessa) Curcillo both of Grove City, Brooke (Jeff Sittinger) Bader of Avon and Beau Bader of Hilton Head Island, SC; great-grandchildren, Spencer, Andrew, Kelli and Colter Curcillo, Jack, Luke, Priya and Brody Curcillo, Brynn, Bexley, Jack and Blake Sittinger and Brielle Bader; brothers-in-law, Tony (Binkie) Curcillo of Murrietta, CA and Paul (Nancy) Curcillo of N. Fort Myers, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty six years, Ernest in 1991; parents, James and Cecilia (nee Zelenka) Kasik; sisters Barb Nichols, Mary Kasik, Rose Heginbotham, Antoinette “Toni” Downton, Mildred Weibling; son-in-law, David Bader and companion, Bill Stolle.

Friends will be received Wednesday March 27, 2019 from 11:00 AM until the time of a noon service at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 295 College Park Drive, Elyria, OH 44035. Reverend Laurie E. Miller will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Road, Suite 270, Valley View, OH 44125.
