Janet Norma Benford July 07, 1925 – March 18, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Janet Norma Benford Janet Norma Benford (nee Kidd), 93, of Elyria, died March 18, 2019 in her home. She was born July 7, 1925 in South Amherst, OH and was a 1943 graduate of Elyria High School. She had been a former employee of Bendix Corporation in Elyria.

She is a member of Community of Faith United Church of Christ and a former member of Lake Avenue United Church of Christ and Division B of the church. Norma was a member of Daughters of Scotia and United British Society. She had been active with the Elyria High Band Boosters, Elyria PTA and attended the 459th Bomb Group Association with her husband.

She was also an avid reader, crafter and organist. Norma is survived by her children, Gary Benford, Janet (Ken) Barnes and Douglas (Catherine) Benford; cousin, Beverly (Dick) Pandy and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty three years, Harry H. Benford in 2001; parents, Peter and Jessie Kidd and a sister, Margaret Miller.

Friends will be received Friday March 22, 2019 from 10:00 AM until the time of a noon service at Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Reverend Kathy Ketchum will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
