Smith passed away on January 2, 2019 at home. She was a teacher and librarian. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth Smith; daughter, Jennifer J. Vannordstrand; brother, C.D. Smith; and one nephew.

She is survived by her son, William Scott Vannordstrand (Lisa); and several nieces, nephews, and their children. A private family service has already been held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Cancer Society, or The Humane Society.
