Anne (Kulynyck) Dudar, 89, of Lebanon, passed away into the loving arms of our Lord on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Living Center in Windham. Born January 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Halai) Kulynyck and grew up in Hebron. She was a 1946 graduate of Windham High School and went on to earn her nursing degree at the Wm.

W. Backus School of Nursing, September, 1949. Anne then went on to the Jersey City Medical Center receiving a certificate in the Study of Operating Room Technique, May 1951. She started her career as a Registered Nurse at the Wm.

W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. Anne worked at Backus until 1959, advancing to Operating Room Supervisor. After her children were grown, she returned to nursing at the former Norwich State Hospital until her retirement in 1987.

She was so proud of her nursing career, that she kept her nursing license current to date. Anne married her beloved husband Stanley Edward Dudar on August 2, 1952 at the Old St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Colchester. Soon after, the couple made their home and raised their family in Lebanon.

They shared 56 years of marriage before he predeceased her on February 21, 2008. Anne was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was very proud of her family.

Before her illness, she enjoyed keeping up a vegetable garden, feeding the backyard birds and a good game of Scrabble. She loved dogs and had many as companions throughout her life. Anne especially enjoyed family gatherings and having everyone together at her home.

She will be sadly missed but always remembered with love by her four children, Patricia Lacafta; John Dudar and his wife, Nancy; Alicia Lamb and her husband, Alan, Carole Brown and her husband, David, all of Lebanon; her grandchildren, Nicholas Lacafta, Daniel and Monique Dudar and Katie and William Lamb; plus extended family and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Nancy, Katherine, Frank, John and Michael. The family will receive guests 5 – 7 PM Tuesday (April 24th) at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Rd.

, Colchester. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10 AM Wednesday (April 25th) directly at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 67 West Town St., Lebanon. She will be laid to rest with her husband following Mass at the New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Colchester.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at St. Joseph’s Living Center, Windham, for the exceptional care provided to Anne during her stay with them.
