Robert H. Wentworth, 87, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2018. Born Sept. 25, 1930 in Ansonia, he was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Ashelford) Wentworth.

Bob relocated to Lebanon in 1947 and graduated from Lyman Memorial High School in 1948. He served with the Army Air Corps and was a proud veteran. Bob and his wife, Carolyn Ann “Tess” (Reichard) Wentworth, raised three sons, Keith (Jennifer), Tim (René) and Wes (Gina).

Bob leaves his second wife of 18 years, Diana Tellier Wentworth and was predeceased by his stepdaughter, Michele Barrett. Bob, along with his father, and brother Tom (Flo) owned and operated laundromats in Willimantic, including Park Coin-a-matic, Mercury Cleaners and Bricktop Laundry. In 1970, Bob transitioned to a long, successful real estate career and served his community in various capacities.

Bob served as Chairman of the Lebanon Republican Town Committee and delegate to the State Central Committee; Past Commander of the American Legion Post #180; a member of Wooster Lodge #10 Colchester, Willimantic Rotary and the Willimantic Country Club; and was a Windham Hospital Corporator. In addition to his children and brother, he leaves behind grandchildren Thomas and Ethan; John, Sam and Emma; and Delton and Amelia. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and family members.

Funeral Services will be observed 2 PM Thursday (May 24th) directly at the First Congregational Church of Lebanon (located at the Jct. of Rtes. 207 & 87) followed by burial in the New Lebanon Cemetery.

There are no calling hours. The family kindly requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 51, Lebanon, CT 06249. Care of arrangements has been entrusted to the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester.
