Anne M. Foley, 95, of Hatboro, PA passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on June 5, 2018. Born on November 5, 1922 in Hazelton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. Schaefer and Ellen McBrairty Schaefer. After graduating from Hazelton High School, Anne married Donald P. Foley Sr. of Nuangola, PA.

They moved to Wilkes-Barre, PA and had six children. Both Anne and Don lived through the depression so no matter what time of day or night you walked into their home they would start preparing food whether you were hungry or not. They always gave the best parties for Family and Friends at their home in Horsham and everyone waited all year for their Christmas Eve party that always included great gifts for everyone and Anne’s famous fudge, Anise cookies, Irish potato candy, and meatballs.

When you came to visit you always got a kiss and hug hello and when you left you got a kiss and hug goodbye. The last thing you heard, as you were getting in your car, was “Check your back seat! ” and “Be careful going home!

” Anne and Don loved when her Sisters and Brother would visit because they knew the house would be filled with their voices singing in harmony and a lot of shenanigans. They loved going to the casinos and were some of the first players at Resorts, when it opened, in Atlantic City. Anne, put herself through business school and worked as an Administrative Assistant for many years and then became a Real Estate Agent through Montgomery County Community College.

Anne and Don finally realized their dream when they became the proud owners of the Wycombe Inn for several years where she was known for her homemade crab cakes. They eventually bought a home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where they retired. One of her favorite things to do, in her later years, was to help everyone at Showtime Charities prepare for their fundraising shows.

Her Husband Don, of over fifty years and a WWII Army Veteran, passed away on August 2, 1993. Along with her husband, she is predeceased by her Son, John P. Foley; Son in Law, Donald C. Clayworth; Sisters, Marion (Edmund) O’Neill, Catherine (Gus) Warnick, Helen (Andrew) Dushner, Margaret (Peter) George, Lucille (Frederick) Broghamer; and Brother, Walter Gordon (Helen Kearn) Schaefer. Missing her dearly are her Children, Donald P. Foley, Jr. (Sally) of Jupiter, FL, Patricia Clayworth and her Fiancé, William Barr of Hatboro, PA, Carol Foley of Cooper City, FL, wife of the late John P. Foley, Catherine (Henry) Graham of Toms River, NJ, Robert (Susan) Foley of New Hope, PA, and Deborah (Steve) Kephart of Horsham, PA.

Anne was blessed with twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, her Fur Baby, Shane (who was always by her side) and many, many nieces and nephews. She was a loving and devoted Wife, Mom, Sister, Aunt, Nana and Grammy and would always remind everyone, “Just remember, if it wasn’t for your Father and me, none of you would be here! ” Relatives and Friends are invited to St. John Bosco’s Catholic Church, 215 E. County Line Road, Hatboro, PA 19040 on Thursday, June 28th, for visitation from 10:00 am until her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.

Donations in Anne’s name may be made to Jefferson Hospice of Warminster, 225 Newtown Rd, Warminster, PA 18974 or St. Jude’s Hospital for Children.
