Anthony’s Obituary It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Anthony “Tony” Jay Littell, 61, on May 18, 2019. Born in Elkhart, Kansas, on April 8, 1958, to Darrell and Annette Littell of Zolfo Springs, FL, Tony was a loving son who continued to help his parents throughout his adult life. Tony married Tracey Corrao in 1990 joining two beautiful families: Joseph Littell of Lincoln, NE; Jessica (Joshua) Montgomery of Hudson, FL; Dr. Jason (Amy) Garcia of Tampa, FL; Dr. Janelle Garcia of St. Petersburg, FL; and Jonathan (Dr. Amanda) Garcia of Cape Coral, FL.

Tony also has five grandchildren: Mikayla, Avery, Rylee, Toby, and Willow and many granddogs. Tony’s passing is a celebration of a life devoted to helping others. A life dedicated to his loving wife, their children, and grandchildren as well as his parents.

He worked as a Respiratory Therapist at area hospitals including most recently DeSoto Memorial Hospital and Highlands Regional Medical Center. He always had an interest in flying. He loved birdwatching, raised pigeons, and later had his Master Falconer certification.

He loved training and observing those majestic creatures. He eventually traded in this hobby for building and flying radio operated airplanes. Tony soon became enamored with the idea of power paragliding.

He was well aware of the dangers involved and took safety measures seriously. He trained on the ground long before taking his first flight. This first adventure led to many other early morning flights from Arcadia Municipal Airport.

He enjoyed the views and waving to people as he flew by. Logging over 130 flight hours, his adventures were shared with many through his unique storytelling and video recordings. Tony died doing what he loved and knowing this brings comfort to his family and friends during this difficult time.

We invite you to share with us Tony’s Celebration of Life this Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 10:00am at the Arcadia Municipal Airport Aviation City Campground. Dress is casual just the way Tony would want. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to either the Friends of Arcadia Airport (www.
