It is with great sadness that Anthony L. Tornabe, 86, died Thursday, March 14, 2019 following a brief illness. Born and raised in New York City, Anthony was a long-time resident of Jersey City. He was a man of deep faith, who enjoyed the company of friends and family – his wonderful smile would light up a room.

After serving in the Korean War and a member of the Catholic War Veterans, Anthony met the love of his life Josephine (nee) Altomonte. He worked for Rolls Royce and retired after 35 years as a computer operator at the U.S. Trust Co. N.Y. Anthony is survived by his children Josephine and Roland Romano, Mary Louise Tornabe and Philip Jordan; grandchildren Christopher Romano and Michelle and Robert Fanning, brother Salvatore and sister-in-law Etta Tornabe. He will be remembered as “Uncle Tony” by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Anthony was preceded in death by his loving wife Josephine of 50 years, parents Dominick and Mary (nee) Buffalino, brother Mario and sister and brother-in-laws Frank and Agnes Ferrara. Visitation is on Sunday, March 17, 2019, 3:00pm to 7:00pm at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd. , Jersey City, NJ 07306 (For GPS Navigation it is best to use parking lot entrance address: 14 Stagg St., Jersey City).

Funeral will begin on Monday, March 18, 2019, 9:30am at the funeral home and a Funeral Mass will follow 10:30am at St. Anne’s Church, Jersey City.
