Anthony “Tony” Schwarz Kearney Resident Anthony “Tony” Schwarz, 57, of Kearney passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019 at his home in Kearney. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Kearney. Pastor Sean Dougherty and Pastor Stan Murdoch will officiate.

Inurnment will follow the service at Kearney Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Caring Angels or Aseracare Hospice. Condolences may be shared online at www.

osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Anthony “Tony” Schwarz was born on February 21, 1962 in Lexington to Carl and Lucy (Netzel) Schwarz.

He received his education from St. Ann’s Catholic School in Lexington, where he graduated with the class of 1980. On September 27, 1986, Tony was united in marriage to Naomi Legates at St. James Catholic Church in Kearney and to this union a child was born, Bryan Schwarz. Tony worked for several years in construction with Schwarz Bros and Fort Kearney Consolidated for 24 years.

Tony’s hobbies included fishing, camping, watching westerns and traveling. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Naomi Schwarz of Kearney; son, Bryan Schwarz of Kearney; mother, Lucy Buesing and her husband, Darrell of Gothenburg; sisters, Teresa Smith and her husband, Gary of Gothenburg and Kathy Lord and her husband, Tim of Indianola, Nebraska; brothers, Ron Schwarz of Lexington, Charlie Schwarz and his wife, Denise of Clovis, California and Troy Schwarz of Gothenburg; sisters-in-law, Connie Blackenship and her husband, Brian of Ashland, Bonnie Volker and her husband, Bill of Kearney and Vickie Weber and her husband, Jeff of Alliance; brothers-in-law, Charles Legates and his wife, Glenda and Gary Legates, all of Kearney; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Tony was preceded in death by his father, Carl Schwarz; brother, David Schwarz; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Rose Lee Legates; brother-in-law, John Legates; sister-in-law, Charlotte Legates; nephew, Nathan Schwarz; and nieces, Natalie and Nicole Schwarz.
