Obituary for Mrs. Antoinette “Toni” (Forte) LiBritz UTICA – Mrs. Antoinette “Toni” (Forte) LiBritz, age 92, passed from this life in peace on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Presbyterian Home for CNY, Inc. with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on June 20, 1925, Antoinette was the daughter of the late Francesco “Frank” and Michelina (Autore) Forte. Raised and educated locally, she attended T.R. Proctor High School.

On October 12, 1946, she married Joseph N. LiBritz with whom she shared 50 years prior to his passing on June 27, 1997. They were a united team in a marriage of their era and they were blessed with a beautiful family. Toni’s heart and mind were totally focused on her loved ones and her home.

In the 1960’s she was employed by the General Electric Company at the Bleecker Street and Broad Street locations. She also worked at the Neighborhood Center where she displayed her hard work ethic. She was also very generous to her co-workers, and often provided goodies for them.

As the cook for the lunch program, she prepared home cooked meals for the youngsters hearty appetites. Toni always loved doing things correctly and honorably, even when no one was watching. She wanted to do right by all.

She learned many lessons during her life and she passed them on to her children. Her words of wisdom were the foundation of their lives, and she was always there for them. Her attributes were many.

She was energetic, social, meticulous, and creative at crafts, knitting, and crocheting. Toni taught her children by example through her ethical and honest attributes. When she visited family and friends, she often brought a gift of love, usually baked goods or chocolate.

Toni was content of mind and heart, and she had a calming influence on her family. She was a communicant of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. In her younger years, Toni bowled with her co-workers of GE in a bowling league, socialized with family and friends.

She was a member of the Road Runners Club, a group of seniors who gathered to take trips, as well as the former East Side Center. But the best part of her life was raising a beautiful family and being blessed with loving, respectful children. Antoinette is survived by her children and their loving spouses, Geraldine and Thomas Capraro, Barbara and James Tripp, and Joseph and Marlene LiBritz; grandchildren, Renee and Anthony Tramacera; Christopher Capraro and fiancée Tonya Fuller; James Jr. and Stephanie Tripp, Michael and Stacy Tripp, Daniel and Christina Tripp; Adrienne LiBritz-Cooley and her husband Brent Cooley, Erica LiBritz and her husband Patrick Koch; and her great-grandchildren, Courtney, Kari Lynn, and Bryan Tramacera; Abigail, and Noelle Capraro; Lillian “Lilly”, and Natalie Tripp; Jacob “Jake”, and Ethan Tripp; and Ian Cooley.

She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and sister-in-law, Kay LiBritz. She was blessed with many wonderful friends who have gone before her. She was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Frances A. and Anthony Sciortino, John and Diane Forte, and Elizabeth Forte; and her late in-laws of the LiBritz family.

The family is grateful to the staff of the Presbyterian Home, Birch Unit, especially evening RN Trista “The boss” Brown who developed a special relationship with Toni, and the Aspen Unit; they were compassionate caregivers who took a great interest in Toni’s wellbeing. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00-8:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Antoinette’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday morning at 10:00 from the funeral home and at 11:00 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev.

Mark Kaminski. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Toni’s memory may be considered to the Neighborhood Center, Inc.; envelopes will be available at the funeral home or online at www.
