Obituary for Antonio M. Ruiz Antonio (Tony) M Ruiz, age 73, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in San Antonio, surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 21, 2018. He was born on October 8, 1944 in San Antonio, TX. Tony attended Fox Tech High School in San Antonio and then served in the United States Marine Corps.

His service in the Marine Corps was always a great point of pride for him throughout his life. Once a Marine, Always a Marine. Through his first marriage, he was blessed with a son Tony Jr. and a daughter Monica.

On his birthday October 8, 1980 he remarried and became the husband to his wife Ruby and the dad to Henry, Rubina, and Raymond. He accepted Ruby’s children as his own and was always proud of all of his kids. Tony enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He was able to travel and take part in memorable life experiences. Tony went on to become a deputy with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. In the years spent as a deputy, he served in various departments of the BCSO.

After retiring from the BCSO, Tony served as a Deputy Constable in Precinct 2 then in Precinct 4. In both the BCSO and the Constable’s offices, he found a strong group of loyal, dedicated, and committed Deputies. His brothers and sisters of the law enforcement community were one of his greatest joys in life and quickly became one of his greatest strengths.

Tony was a proud Deputy and public servant. He will be greatly missed and always loved. Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Ruby; sons Tony Jr., Henry, Raymond; daughters Monica, Rubina; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; his sister Emma; nieces and nephews.

SERVICES Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 12:00 a.m. His ashes will be laid to rest at a private family service.
