Arden Leon Sunwall, 67, of Great Falls, MT died on May 14th in the year of our Lord 2019 in Salt Lake City, UT. At his passing he was lovingly surrounded by his wife, children, and youngest brother. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 25th at Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church followed by a reception at Solid Rock Bible Church.

A graveside service will take place approximately 3:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery just south of Great Falls. Memorials may be designated to Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church or the Great Falls Rescue Mission. Arden Leon Sunwall was born July 25, 1951, in Conrad, MT.

He is the eldest child of Samuel and Doris (Stole) Sunwall. After graduation from Dutton High School, he attended Lutheran Brethren Bible College Eisenhower College in New York for three years. He attended in Fergus Falls, MN where he met his future wife Martha Low.

Arden and Martha were married at the Conrad Mission Church. After marriage, they moved to Salt Lake City, UT where their first child Krista was born. They moved to Great Falls where they remained, and had three more children: Carrie, Katherine, and David.

Arden was a devoted husband and loving father. Arden was an outdoor enthusiast and avid gardener. He enjoyed hiking and exploring the mountains of Montana.

When traveling Arden tended to emphasize the journey rather than the destination. For him, getting there was half the fun, and he loved to take the backroads. He loved talking to people and getting to know their life stories, even strangers.

Arden genuinely cared about people. Above all, Arden was a Christian, a follower and disciple of Jesus Christ. He was brought to the Lord in Christian baptism by his parents.

He was a long time member of Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church, where he served as an elder and organist. Arden served faithfully at the Great Falls Rescue Mission. For many years he played piano for chapel services, and for the last two years he worked as a business office clerk.

Survivors include his beloved wife Martha and his four children and their families, Krista and Jed Koljonen of Great Falls and their son Bode; Carrie and Joe Matter of Great Falls; Katherine Sunwall of Great Falls; and David and Shaina Sunwall of Salt Lake City and their children Samuel and Caleb. Additional survivors include siblings Marie (Roy) Barsness of Kirkland, WA; Darrell (Janet) Sunwall of Issaquah, WA; Rolfe (Lillian) Sunwall of Great Falls; Maureen (Curt) Nelson of Webb, SK; and Ron (Lynn) Sunwall of Great Falls. Arden was preceded in death by his parents and his dear sister Doreen.
