Aretha Marie McCastle Benjamin was born November 10, 1950 to the late Lee Wesley and Teresa McCastle. She departed this life on February 15, 2019. She attended Holman School, were she graduated in the proud Class of 1969.

She was married to Jessie L. Benjamin and was the Mother of four children. Aretha was a nurse at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was also employed at Riceland Foods in Stuttgart, Arkansas.

Aretha was a very loyal and dedicated member of New Bethel A.M.E. Church, where she was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class and the Worship leader for the Women’s Missionary Society. In addition, she was a member of the choir and involved in the Prayer Line Ministry. She truly loved God.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lee Wesley and Teresa McCastle, and two brothers Alvester McCastle and Odell McCastle. Aretha leaves to cherish her memories: husband Jessie L. Benjamin; children Jimmy McCastle, Delois Minor, Russell Alexander, and Vera McCastle, all of Stuttgart, AR ; sisters Alberta Scroggins of Chicago, IL, and Katherine Campbell, Dianne Robinson, and Ella McCastle, all of Stuttgart, AR; brothers Sammie McCastle and Therman McCastle, both of Little Rock, AR, and Alonzo McCastle of Stuttgart, AR; twenty grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; a special uncle Billy McCastle; two aunts Faye McCastle and Doris McCastle; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sister Aretha will be truly missed at New Bethel A.M.E Church and the Stuttgart community.
