Obituary for Argentine (Savoie) Brideau LEOMINSTER- Argentine (Savoie) Brideau, 88, of Leominster, died Saturday, September 22 at Leominster Hospital. Argentine was born June 2, 1930, in Maltempec, New Brunswick, daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Noel) Savoie and was the youngest and last of 13 children. Mrs. Brideau was primarily a homemaker raising her seven children.

She also owned and operated Argentine’s and worked several years in the Admitting department of Leominster Hospital. She was a member of St. Cecilia’s Parish serving as a Eucharistic Minister. Argentine enjoyed golfing, knitting, cooking, and entertaining.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Her husband of 58 years, J. Robert E. Brideau, died November 3, 2010. She leaves three sons, Robin J. Brideau and his wife, Judith of Lunenburg, Richard C. Brideau and his wife, Kris-Ann of Hampden, MA, and Robert D. Brideau and his wife, Kimberly of Gardner; four daughters, Lou Ann Arquilla and her husband, Marco of Leominster, Lisa Charette and her husband, James of Hopkinton, Celeste Downey and her husband, Ronald of Albany, OR, and Christine LeBlanc and her husband, David of Winchendon; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Calling hours are Friday, September 28, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Argentine’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
