Obituary for Lorraine T. Sergerie LEOMINSTER- Lorraine T. (Plouffe) Sergerie, 91, of Leominster, died Monday, September 24, at the Highlands, after an illness. Lorraine was born October 18, 1926, in Leominster, daughter of the late Adelard and Aurore (Scott) Plouffe. She grew up in Leominster and graduated from Leominster High School in 1945.

Mrs. Sergerie worked as an operator for New England Telephone from 1946, retiring in 1978 with 32 years of service. Lorraine was a very devoted Catholic at St. Cecilia’s Parish. Her fondest memories growing up and well into adult years were yearly vacations spent at Hampton Beach.

Following her retirement, she loved to travel, dine out, playing bingo with her friends, and an occasional trip to Foxwoods. Her husband of 17 years, Robert T. Sergerie, died in 1980. She was also predeceased by her brothers in law, Paul and Leon Patry, and sister in law, Lucille Mammone.

She is survived by her sister in law, Pat Patry of Leominster; nieces and nephews, Robert Patry and his friend, Laila of Westminster, Richard Patry and his wife, Kathy of Lunenburg, Ronald Patry and his wife, Cheryl, Sheila Larkin and her husband, James of Lunenburg, Nancy Courtin and her husband, Kevin of Greenfield, Lisa Coakley and her husband, Leonard of South Dennis, Sheryl Rohtuck and her husband, Robin of Watertown, Paul Patry and his wife, Marguerite, Suzanne Berry and her husband, Melvin, Maura Randall and her husband, Kirt, James Patry and his wife, Nina, Ellen Rutherford, Steven Patry and his wife, Martha, Thomas Patry and his wife, Barbara, John Patry and his wife, Helen, and Jane Sanchez and her husband, Michael, all of Vermont. A profound depth of gratitude to Kenneth and Brenda Saucier of Lunenburg for many years of friendship and support, and to the staff at Manor on the Hill and the Highlands for their care and support during a stressful time. A calling hour will be held Thursday, September 27, from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster.

The funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial will follow at St. Cecilia’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lorraine’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
