Arlando Leigh Powell was born on, March 12, 1980 to, Rachael Annette Powell and Patrick McCoy in McAlester, Ok. At the age of 6 months old up until the age of 6, Arlando was raised by his paternal grandmother, Alice Walker and maternal grandfather, William Powell. Afterwards, with his mother, Rachael Carter and her husband, Willie Carter in Oklahoma City and Memphis Tn.

In his sophomore year Arlando returned to Kinta, Ok where he graduated high school in Quinton, Ok. Arlando joined the Navy immediately after graduation and later joined the Army. He fought in several wars during both branches and was medically discharged after surviving an explosion in Iraq.

Arlando was ALWAYS an exceptional student in school and was in special programs for gifted students. In high school, in Memphis Tennessee, Arlando was apart of the JROTC. Arlando will be missed by everyone that knew him.

He touched many lives and he was a positive influence in some way to all who was ever around him. He leaves to mourn his wonderful fiancee’, Tamara, mother – Rachael Hooks, father – Pat McCoy, Stepfather – Willie Carter, sisters – NaKitta, Melodii, Daijah, and Shantel, brothers – James Patrick and Terrynce, grandmother – Alice Walker and grandfather William Powell, and a host of neices and nephews. Arlando also leaves to mourn 2 gentlemen that he shared a special bond and relationship with Corey Benard and Jack Walker.
