Arlene Mender, 81 of La Porte, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at her home. Arlene was born on May 27, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Clarence and Marie (Horich) Oberg. On August 28, 1958, she married Louis J. Mender who preceded her November 23, 2014.

Arlene leaves behind two daughters, Cheryl (Andy) VanWaardenburg of La Porte and Laurie (Jim) Day of La Porte; a son, Thomas (Kari) Mender of La Porte; nine grandchildren, Ryan, Kristina, Cody, Heidi, Sarah, Victoria, Matthew, Erin, and Max; five great grandchildren, Ele, Brier, Hudson, Ryker, and Easton; and a sister, Cheryl (Gary) Kinnett of Roseburg, Oregon. A brother, Donald Oberg preceded her in death. There will be no services.
