Arthur Lester, 90, of Muskogee, passed away Monday, May 27, 2019. He was born February 8, 1929 to Erma Lillian (Parker) and Edgar Jasper Lester. He leaves behind a wife of 70 years, Evalene Haddock Lester.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Myrtle Thomason, Faydean Birdsell, Nadine Warner Henson, and Charles Lester; son, David Arthur Lester; and son-in-law, Gary Hardage. Survivors include in wife; brother, Wilburn Kenneth Lester; sister-in-law, June Lester; brother-in-law, John David Birdsell; daughter, Elaine Hardage; daughter-in-law, Kathy Grogan Lester; four grandchildren, Mel (Marcie) Hardage, Shira (Kevien) Kelley, David Allen (Brandy) Lester, and Jennifer Lester; four great-grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, and Micaiah Hardage, and Kinlee Lester. Arthur was a longtime newspaper typesetter and minister in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Alaska.

He enjoyed writing poems and songs, and journaling about his life. He also enjoyed being with his family, and he always had a story or a memory to share. He loved people and will be remembered by many whose lives he influenced.

Funeral services celebrating Arthur’s life will be 1PM, Monday, June 3, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Max Brashears officiating. Interment will follow at Park Hill Cemetery in Park Hill, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be David Lester, Mel Hardage, Kevien Kelley, Michael Deffebaugh, J.C. Warner, and Brad Campbell.
