OBITUARY Audrey May Hanson May 30, 1916 – November 27, 2018 Audrey May Sandlin Hanson (nee Burk), was born on May 30, 1916 in Mercer County, Missouri and died November 27, 2018, at 102 years of age, in Blue Springs, Missouri. Audrey was raised on a farm two miles north of Modena, Missouri, with older sister Angie Wilmyth and younger sister, Margaret Louise. In 1935, she married William Fenton Sandlin in Mercer County.

In the late 1930’s, they moved to Houston, Texas, where their son, Fenton Dwight Sandlin was born. After her divorce in 1944, Audrey and Dwight returned to Kansas City, Missouri, where Audrey remained for the rest of her life. In 1956, Audrey married Bernard Michael (Mike) Hanson.

Their marriage lasted until Mike’s death in 1986. Audrey retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. after 28 years of employment. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Wilmer Floyd Burk and Martha Blanche Burk, her sisters, Wilmyth Burk and Margaret Brummett, her niece Marlene and husband Richard Drennen.

Audrey is survived by her son, Dwight Sandlin and his wife Judy, who reside in Bainbridge Island, Washington. Audrey is also survived by nieces Patsy Jane (Brummett) Kincade (husband Ronald), and Janette Louise (Brummett) Lenhardt (husband Bruce) and nephew David Andrew Brummett (wife Bobbi). Funeral services are scheduled for Friday December 7th, 11:00 AM at Mt.

Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
