Obituary of Aurora Bondi Aurora G. Bondi, 93, of 715 Falconer St. Jamestown, formerly of Campbell Ave. and Aldren Ave. , passed away at 5:20 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2018, in UPMC Chautauqua.

A lifelong area resident, she was born August 11, 1925 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late James N. and Catherine Landi Grassi. She was a 1943 graduate of Jamestown High School. She was so thankful to have been involved in the planning and was able to attend her 75 th class reunion this past summer.

Before her retirement years she was employed by the former Carlson’s Jewelry Store for 24 years. In previous years she had worked as a bookkeeper for the Watch Shop for 24 years and also worked for the former Militillo Enterprises. She was a longtime communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at St. John Catholic Church where she volunteered for many church functions for 40 years.

She was also a literacy volunteer for several years and was a member of the One Hundred Member Club of Jamestown High School serving as Secretary for 20 years. She served as co-chairman of her class reunions and enjoyed her friendship with her classmates. Surviving are two daughters; Mary Kathryn (Charles) Chester of Laurel, MD, Deborah Ann (John) Ellison of Fayetteville, NY, five grandchildren; Kevin (Erin) Chester of Columbia, MD, Robert Chester of Laurel, MD, Kathryn (Wesley) Huntemann of Columbia, MD, Matthew (Ericka) Ellison of Frankford, DE, Michael Ellison of Laurel, MD, three great grandchildren; Anthony Chester, Vincent Chester, Patrick Huntemann, a sister; Jeannette Brigiotta of Jamestown and a brother; Anthony Grassi of Salisbury Beach, MA.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald C. Bondi whom she married September 4, 1950 and who died May 18, 2017, and infant granddaughter, Catherine Ellison, a brother, Salvatore Grassi and a sister, Marian Golando. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday in Holy Apostles Parish at St. John Catholic Church. The Rev.

Dennis W. Mende, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led by Rev.

Mende at 2:45 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Apostles Parish, 509 Cherry St. Jamestown, NY 14701 or to St. Jude Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TV, 38105.
