Obituary of Carrie Calalesina Carrie Rose Calalesina, 93, of 30 Auburn Ave. , Jamestown, NY, formerly of 301 South Main St., passed away peacefully at 10:33 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018, in the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, she was born July 1, 1925 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Thomas and Cecelia Daversa Anzideo.

Carrie was a 1944 graduate of Jamestown High School. Before her retirement she was employed as a sales clerk for the former Carnahan’s Men Clothing Store in downtown Jamestown for several years. In earlier years she had worked for the former Valone Dry Cleaners and the former Rockman’s Super Duper Store.

She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. Carrie will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved cooking and baking for her family, especially her Sunday pasta dinners with children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed doing needlepoint, knitting and was an avid bowler.

Surviving are two sons, Charles (Jana) Calalesina of Ravenna, OH, Thomas (Sandy) Calalesina of Lakewood, NY, four grandchildren, Kevin J. Calalesina of Akron, OH, Marsha M. Calalesina of Ravenna, OH, Sarah R. Calalesina of Key West, FL, Ryan (Meghan) Calalesina of Hamburg, NY, three great grandchildren, James Bennett of Ravenna, OH, Emme and Sullivan Calalesina of Hamburg, NY, and her beloved sister and best friend, Ludiena F. Constantino, with whom she had made her home with for several years, as well as several nieces and nephews whom she considered her own children. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Calalesina whom she married September 20, 1947 and who died October 13, 2013, and infant brother Anthony Anzideo and a sister, Ida Lodico. Carrie’s family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Village and Chautauqua County Hospice and Palliative Care for the loving care and concern they gave to her during her final days.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor will be celebrant.

Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 6:45 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Chautauqua County Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 West Fairmount Ave.
