Obituary of Richard Cavness Richard Cavness, 68, of Jamestown, passed away Monday November 12, 2018. He was born June 27, 1950 in New York City, son of the late John and Katherine Lango Cavness. Rich was a certified alcohol counselor with the Jamestown Area Council of Alcoholism, Chautauqua County Council of Alcoholism, and the Sobering up Service.

He also counseled with the NYS Drinking and Driving Program. Rich was a NYS Certified EMT and Motorcycle Safety Instructor. He also worked as a case worker with Family Services of Jamestown and a service coordinator with Aspire.

In earlier years, Rich was active in his church, including serving as a Deacon and with the Pioneer Program at Fluvanna Community Church. He also enjoyed photography. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Beverly Albright Cavness whom he married August 24, 1980; three sons: Noel Cavness; Eric (Katie) Cavness of West Ellicott; Darryl (Crystal) Cavness of Lakewood; four grandchildren: Elliot, Alexandria, Preston, Amiyah Cavness, and one grandchild on the way; two brothers: Gilbert Cavness of CA; and Raymond Cavness of FL.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terrance Scott. The funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday November 15, 2018 in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev.

Leroy Walker will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. (two hours prior to the service) Thursday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aspire of WNY, 140 Mall Blvd.
