Obituary of Robert Welsh Robert H. Welsh, 67, of Celoron, passed away Friday December 28, 2018 in UPMC Chautauqua Hospital. He was born March 3, 1951 in Jamestown the son of the late Robert I. “Smoky” and Donna Nelson Welsh. Bob was a 1969 graduate of Southwestern Central High School and a graduate of Jamestown Community College.

He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War. Prior to retiring, he was a wrecker operator for Williams Garage and Butera’s. He was a life member of the Ellery Rod and Gun Club, member of the Chautauqua Fish Club, past Governor of the Jamestown Moose Lodge, and past member of the Busti Fire Department.

Bob was an avid Stateline Speedway fan and enjoyed going to auctions. He will be most remembered for having a heart of gold and always there to help anyone at anytime. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Sandra Anderson Welsh; his children, Kenneth Evans Jr. of Westfield, Wilbur (Vickie) Evans of Jamestown, Bernice Riel of Jamestown, Robert (Tina) Evans of Hartfield; 27 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Debra Roemer of Jamestown, Rebecca (June) Chapman of Celoron, a brother, Richard (Laurie) Welsh of Frewsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, April Shirley, and two grandsons, Adam Evans and David Paul Holland. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday January 2, 2019 in the Lind Funeral Home. At 7 p.m., there will be a time of sharing memories followed by a celebration of life at the Celoron Fire Department, 92 Dunham Ave.
