Obituary of Edward Johnson Edward J. Johnson, 86, of 221 Hotchkiss Street, passed away Thursday morning, December 20, 2018 in his home. He was born October 9, 1932 in Jamestown, the son of the late Victor and Rachel Pratt Johnson, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1952 to 1954. Ed was employed for over 30 years by the U.S. Postal Service in Jamestown, retiring as a clerk at the age of 55.

In earlier years, he enjoyed golfing and bowling, especially with work friends, and in more recent years looked forward to exercising at JCC and following politics. Surviving are three children: Donna Johnson of Oil City, Pa. , Victor Steve Johnson of Jamestown and Craig (Bethany) Johnson of Tampa, Fla.

; two grandchildren: Angelica and Christian Johnson of Florida; a sister, Louise (Richard) Reardon of Bemus Point; and a nephew, Ed Hubburnett of England and two nieces, Gail (Larry) Jensen of State College, Pa. and Linda (Dave) King of Oregon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia and her husband Carl Hubburnett.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Witherington, Hospice Chaplain, will officiate.

Friends will be received for two hours prior to the service Thursday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd. , Jamestown, NY 14701.
