Obituary of Lois Wilcox Lois Ann Wilcox, 75, formerly of Tanglewood Manor, passed away at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018, in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A n area resident for most of her life, she was born March 9, 1943 in Olean, NY, a daughter of the late Gilbert L. and Clara M. Cole Wilcox. Lois was a 1961 graduate of Jamestown High School and following graduation immediately began working for Hopes Windows, now Hopes Architectural Products, where she worked as a Secretary in various departments from 1961-1991.

After working at various jobs for a few years she found her final place of employment as a typist for the Chautauqua County Department of Social Services where she worked from 1991 to 2007 retiring on December 13, 2007. She was a very religious and kind person and before her health diminished was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. She was also a volunteer at the St. Susan’s Soup Kitchen, was an avid reader and a fan of the Buffalo Bills and NASCAR Racing.

Surviving are her sister, Ruth A. Scavone Crandall of Jamestown, a niece; Linda (Pete) Fisher of Bend, OR, two nephews; Tom (Janet) McCrea of North Bend, OR, Richard (Debbie) McCrea of NV. Besides her biological parents she was preceded in death by her adoptive parents; Philip E. and Anna T. Wilcox, a sister; Margaret “Peggy” McCrea and a niece, Diane Perkins. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Lind Funeral Home.

Visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
